This Privacy Policy explains what personal data is collected, how it is used, and what rights you have when using the RiiTag service.
RiiTag is a fan-made, non-commercial service that allows users to create customizable gamertags and track which games they have started on their Wii, Wii U, Cemu, Citra, and other supported platforms.
When you sign in using Discord, we receive:
Discord User ID
Discord Username
Discord Avatar URL
We do NOT receive:
your Discord email
your friends list
your messages
any other private Discord information
This data is required to create your RiiTag account and authenticate you securely.
We store the customization settings you choose for your gamertag, including:
Display name
Background
Font
Flag
Overlay
Mii settings (if enabled)
Custom comment
Preferred cover region/type
These settings are needed to generate your tag.
Your collected coins are stored alongside your account information.
We store when a game was started, including:
Timestamp of play event
Game ID
Console type (e.g., Wii U, 3DS, Wii, Switch)
Game title (if available)
We do not intentionally track gameplay duration.
Depending on your usage, repeated play events may indirectly represent session length, but this is not collected on purpose.
The service does not store access logs, IP addresses, browser fingerprints, or analytics.
Temporary runtime logs may be generated automatically by the application (PM2/NodeJS), but they:
contain no personal data,
are not stored permanently,
are used only for debugging if needed.
We use a single session cookie:
riitag-session
– Required for logging in and staying authenticated
– Contains no tracking or advertising data
– Not used for analytics
No third-party cookies are used.
We use your data to:
authenticate you via Discord
display and generate your gamertag
show your coins
process Playlog updates from your console
personalize your RiiTag settings
enable account management (export & deletion)
Your data is never sold, shared for marketing, or used for profiling.
We only share data when necessary to provide the service:
Used only for login.
We send nothing to Discord after login.
Used server-side to fetch game cover images.
No user data is ever sent to GameTDB.
The service runs on a dedicated server in Germany hosted by Hetzner, a fully GDPR-compliant provider.
All data is stored on servers located in Germany (EU).

When deleting your account, all related data is permanently removed, including:
Discord ID & username
Playlog
Gamertag settings
Coins
Cached images associated with your account
There is no age restriction for RiiTag itself.
However, login requires a valid Discord account, and Discord enforces a 13+ age requirement (or local equivalent).
We process data under the following legal bases:
